His master-purpose\u2026<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Spurgeon, \u201cChrist\u2019s Incarnation, the Foundation of Christianity\u201d<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nLet us gather with grateful boldness around<br \/>\nthe Infant in the manger, and behold our God!<br \/>\nThe Great Object of Our Lord\u2019s Coming<br \/>\nHere Was Not to Live, but to Die.<br \/>\nHe appeared, not so much to subdue sin by His teaching,<br \/>\nor to manifest goodness, or to perfect an example for<br \/>\nus to imitate, but \u201cTo Put Away Sin By the Sacrifice<br \/>\nof Himself.\u201d<br \/>\nThat which the modern teachers of error would thrust<br \/>\ninto the background (the substitutionary sacrifice<br \/>\nof Jesus), our Lord placed in the forefront.<\/p>\n<p>HE CAME TO TAKE AWAY OUR SINS.<\/p>\n<p>Do not think of Jesus without remembering<br \/>\nthe Design of His Coming.<\/p>\n<p>I beg you, do not know Christ without His cross,<br \/>\nas some pretend to know Him.<br \/>\nWe preach Christ- so do a great many more.<br \/>\nBut, \u201cwe preach Christ CRUCIFIED!\u201d<br \/>\nWe preach, concerning our Lord, His cross, His blood,<br \/>\nHis death; and upon the blood of His cross we lay great<br \/>\nstress, extolling much \u201cthe precious blood of Christ,<br \/>\nas of a lamb without blemish and without spot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChrist Jesus Came into the World to Save Sinners,\u201d<br \/>\nBy Putting Away Their Sin \u201cBy the Sacrifice of Himself.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why did Jesus come?
