C. Ryle<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.\u201d\u00a0Hebrews 13:5<\/p>\n<p>Let every believer grasp these words<br \/>\nand store them up in his heart.<\/p>\n<p>Keep them ready, and have them fresh in your memory;<br \/>\nyou will need them one day.<\/p>\n<p>The Philistines will be upon you,<br \/>\nthe hand of sickness will lay you low,<br \/>\nthe king of terrors will draw near,<br \/>\nthe valley of the shadow of death<br \/>\nwill open up before your eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Then comes the hour when you will find nothing so<br \/>\ncomforting as a text like this, nothing so cheering<br \/>\nas a real sense of God\u2019s companionship.<\/p>\n<p>Stick to that word, \u201cnever\u201d.<br \/>\nIt is worth its weight in gold.<br \/>\nCling to it as a drowning man clings to a rope.<br \/>\nGrasp it firmly, as a soldier attacked on all sides grasps<br \/>\nhis sword. God has said, and He will stand to it,<br \/>\n\u201cI will never leave you, nor forsake you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NEVER! Though YOUR HEART be often faint, and you are sick<br \/>\nof self, and your many failures and infirmities overwhelm you-<br \/>\neven then the promise will not fail.<\/p>\n<p>NEVER! Though THE DEVIL whispers, \u201cI shall have you at last;<br \/>\nyet a little time and your faith will fail, and you will be mine.\u201d<br \/>\nEven then the Word of God will stand.<\/p>\n<p>NEVER! When the cold chill of DEATH is creeping over you,<br \/>\nand friends can do no more, and you are starting on that<br \/>\njourney from which there is no return-<br \/>\neven then Christ will not forsake you.<\/p>\n<p>NEVER! When the day of JUDGMENT comes, and the books are<br \/>\nopened, and the dead are rising from their graves, and eternity<br \/>\nis beginning- even then the promise will bear all your weight;<br \/>\nChrist will not leave His hold on your soul.<\/p>\n<p>Oh believing reader, trust in the Lord for ever,<br \/>\nfor He says, \u201cI will never leave you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lean back all your weight upon Him, do not be afraid.<br \/>\nGlory in His promise.<br \/>\nRejoice in the strength of your consolation.<\/p>\n<p>You may say boldly, \u201cThe Lord is my Helper, I will not fear.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEVER!
