He comes!<\/p>\n

With clouds of angels, cherubim, seraphim,
\nand all the armies of heaven, He comes!<\/p>\n
With all the forces of nature\u2013
\nthundercloud, and blackness of tempest, the Lord of all
\nmakes his triumphant entrance to judge the world!<\/p>\n
The clouds are the dust of his feet in that terrible day of
\nbattle, when He will rid Himself of His adversaries,
\nshaking them out of the earth with His thunder, and
\nconsuming them with the devouring flame of His lightning!<\/p>\n
All of heaven will gather with its utmost pomp
\nat the great appearing of the Lord.<\/p>\n
Not as the Man of Sorrows, despised and rejected,
\nwill Jesus come.
\nRather, as Jehovah came upon Sinai, in the midst of thick
\nclouds and a terrible darkness- so will He come,
\nwhose coming will be the final judgement!

The Beautific Vision-
\nWe have I believe, all of us who love his name,
\na most insatiable wish to behold his person.<\/p>\n
The thing for which I would pray above all others,
\nwould be forever to behold his face,
\nforever to lay my head upon his breast,
\nforever to know that I am his,
\nforever to dwell with him.<\/p>\n
Yes, one short glimpse,
\none transitory vision of his glory,
\none brief glance at his marred,
\nbut now exalted and beaming countenance,
\nwould repay almost a world of trouble.<\/p>\n
We have a strong desire to see him\u2013
\n\u201cMillions of years my wondering eyes
\nShall over your beauties rove;
\nAnd endless ages I\u2019ll adore
\nThe glories of your love.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oh! the sight is better still.
\nWe are to see him \u2018exalted\u2019.
\nWe shall see the head, but not with its thorny crown.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe head that once was crowned with thorns,
\nIs crowned with glory now.\u201d<\/p>\n
We shall see the hand, and the nail-prints too, but not the
\nnail; it has been once drawn out, and forever.<\/p>\n
We shall see his side, and its pierced wound too;
\nbut the blood shall not issue from it.<\/p>\n
We shall see him not with a peasant\u2019s garb around him,
\nbut with the empire of the universe upon his shoulders.<\/p>\n
We shall see him, not with a reed in his hand,
\nbut grasping a golden scepter.<\/p>\n
We shall see him, not as mocked and spit upon and
\ninsulted, not bone of our bone, in all our agonies,
\nafflictions, and distresses; but we shall see him exalted!<\/p>\n
No longer Christ the man of sorrows, the acquaintance of
\ngrief, but Christ the Man-God!
\n-radiant with splendor,
\n-effulgent with light,
\n-clothed with rainbows,
\n-girded with clouds,
\n-wrapped in lightnings,
\n-crowned with stars,
\n-the sun beneath his feet.<\/p>\n
Oh! glorious vision!
\nHow can we guess what he is?
\nWhat words can tell us? or how can we speak thereof?<\/p>\n
Yet whatever he is, with all his splendor unveiled,
\nall his glories unclouded, and himself fully revealed;
\nwe shall see him as he is.<\/p>\n
We shall see him, beloved\u2013 not abhorred, not despised
\nand rejected,
\nbut worshipped,
\nhonored,
\ncrowned,
\nexalted,
\nserved by flaming spirits,
\nand worshipped by cherubim and seraphim.<\/p>\n
