It is not always \u201clight\u201d at his evening time; but this we know, that when the day of immortality breaks, the last vestige of earth\u2019s shadows will forever flee away!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To the closing hour of time, Divine Providence may be to him a baffling enigma; but before the first hour has struck on Heaven\u2019s clock \u2014 all will be cleared up! My soul! \u201cin God\u2019s light, you shall see light.\u201d The Book of His decrees is a sealed book now! \u201cA great deep\u201d is all the explanation you can often give to His mysterious ways. The why and the wherefore, He seems to keep from us . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to test our faith,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to discipline us in trustful submission,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to conform us to the image of Christ, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to lead us to say, \u201cMay Your will be done!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But rejoice that \u2018hereafter\u2019 \u2014 light awaits you! Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror \u2014 but then, face to face! In the great mirror of eternity \u2014 all the events of this chequered earthly scene will be reflected. The darkest of them will be seen to be bright with mercy; the severest of His dispensations will prove to be \u201conly the severer aspects of His love!\u201d Pry not, then, too curiously! Do not judge too censoriously on God\u2019s dealings with you. Wait with patience, until the grand day of disclosures; one confession shall then burst from every tongue, \u201cHe has done all things well!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the great mirror of eternity!
