Who can this be, my soul, but\nJesus? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He, and He only, Who is the whole\nof the covenant, is also the Messenger and the Angel of the covenant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
JEHOVAH hath never put His name\nin any other; neither given His honour to any other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But in Jesus He is eternally well\npleased, and hath given all things into His hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pause then, my soul, and\ncontemplate this holy, this blessed, this only-begotten of the Father, full of\ngrace and truth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I see in Him all the glory, the\nsovereignty, the wisdom, grace and goodness of the Father, and He is JEHOVAH’S\nsalvation to the ends of the earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And wilt thou then, my gracious\nGod and Father, send Jesus before me in all my way, to keep me, to guide me,\nand to bring me in, to behold thy glory in the face of Jesus Christ, and to\ndwell with thee for ever?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oh Lord Jesus! I would\ndesire grace so to beware of thee, so to love thee, so to obey thee, so to\nadore thee, so to make thee my all in all, my life, my love, my joy, my\npresent, my everlasting hope and portion, that in life and death, in time and to\nall eternity, Jesus may be my glory and salvation for ever and ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we know whether we have\ngone, not only from ignorance to knowledge, but also from knowledge to\nsubmission? It is primarily revealed in this: we cease from establishing\nour own righteousness before God. We glory in nothing other than Christ\u2019s\ncross, soothe our conscience with nothing but His blood, and rest our hope for\nfavour with God on nothing other than Christ\u2019s acceptance before the Father.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n The woman who spoke these words had come to the well for nothing\nmore than regular water and surely had no thought of her eternal soul. But the\nLord, who providentially was there, obviously worked a powerful work of grace\nin her heart. He revealed that He knew who and what she was\u2026a sinner! And being\ntruly stirred in her heart by His powerful and gracious revelation, she went\nback into the city and admonished the men there to come see a man that had done\nsomething for her\u2026exposed her need of Him\u2026\u201dis not this the Christ?\u201d was her\nplea. If the Lord has done something for us, let us be unashamedly inviting\nothers to come hear the message of the Christ that we worship. The Lord may be\npleased to call one of them out of the darkness of sin and unbelief. \n <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the record or the witness\nof the gospel: God has given eternal life to His people. They didn\u2019t earn\nit or deserve it. They were dead in trespasses and sins but God gave them\neternal life as a free gift of His grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you desire to have this life,\ngo to Christ. Eternal life is not in our decision, our morality, or our\nreligious activity. Eternal life is in Christ because Christ is\nlife. There is nothing more important than knowing and trusting Christ. \nKnowing Christ is so important that whoever knows Christ and believes on Him\nhas eternal life and whoever does not believe Him cannot have life. Philpot <\/p>\n\n\n\n Jehovah Tsidkenu: THE LORD OUR\nRIGHTEOUSNESS<\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever wondered how the Holy God\nof the Bible could make a guilty, defiled, hell-deserving sinner righteous\n(HOLY)? <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Scriptures are quite clear that\nPERFECT <\/p>\n\n\n\n RIGHTEOUSNESS (HOLINESS) is the\nrequirement for any sinner’s entrance into God’s presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Christ said: “For I say unto you,\nthat except YOUR righteousness EXCEED the righteousness of the Scribes and\nPharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matt.7:20) <\/p>\n\n\n\n We learn several lessons from Christ’s\nwords in this verse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n First of all, this righteousness\nrequired by God to bring us into His presence has to be legally MINE –\nExcept YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But Scripture tells us that “all\nOUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES are as filthy rags”<\/p>\n\n\n\n (Isa.64:6) <\/p>\n\n\n\n Paul said “There is NONE RIGHTEOUS,\nno not one” <\/p>\n\n\n\n (Rom.3:10) <\/p>\n\n\n\n Secondly, our righteousness has to\nexceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees righteousness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What kind of righteousness did they\nhave? <\/p>\n\n\n\n They had a righteousness of their own\ncreation, consisting of their obedience to God’s law and their participation in\nthe ceremonies and rituals of the Mosaic covenant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Their righteousness impressed other\nmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And He said unto them, “Ye are they\nwhich justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that\nwhich is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n (Lk.16:15) <\/p>\n\n\n\n These men prayed, they gave tithes of\nall that they had, they attended synagogue regularly, and they\nobeyed every outward commandment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet our Lord tells us their\nrighteousness is not the righteousness required to bring a sinner to heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The question remains: Where do we find\nthe righteousness God requires? <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is what the grace of God is all\nabout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the person of Christ, God’s grace and\nmercy provided what His holiness and justice demanded . His holiness demands\nthat we keep His holy law perfectly in thought, word, and deed from the cradle\nto the grave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In other words, we have to love God with\nall our heart, mind, and soul, not just for our whole lives, BUT ETERNALLY.\nAlso, God’s justice demands we suffer the eternal punishment due unto our\nsin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The soul that sinneth, IT SHALL DIE<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you break just one of God’s laws, it\ndemands that you suffer eternal condemnation, with no possibility of\nparole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This dear sinner is why Christ Jesus is\ncalled The <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Christ loved God with all His heart,\nmind, and soul from the cradle to the grave, and He suffered sinlessly for all\nthe sins of all God’s elect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He didn’t do it as a private Person, but\nas the representative and substitute of His people, and His finished work at\nCalvary (HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ) has become theirs legally in God’s sight, just as\nmuch theirs, because in God\u2019s sight they had performed it in Christ in their\neternal union in Him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The writer of Pilgrims Progress, John\nBunyan said it best: “And indeed, this is one of the greatest mysteries in\nthe world, namely, that a righteousness that resides with a Person in heaven\nshould justify me a sinner, on earth!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Copied and modified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n CONTEMPORARY RELIGION <\/p>\n\n\n\n NEVER in the history of the\nworld has there been so much <\/p>\n\n\n\n religious activity. Religious men\nand women, young and old, are <\/p>\n\n\n\n actively involved in political,\nsocial, and moral issues in the name <\/p>\n\n\n\n of God (and for the good they do,\nI am truly thankful). <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the matter of\n\u201csoul-winning,\u201d evangelists, missionaries, <\/p>\n\n\n\n pastors and personal witnesses\n\u201ccompass sea and land\u201d (Matt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 23:15) in their efforts to \u201cwin\u201d\nsinners to Jesus (and for the success <\/p>\n\n\n\n they have, generally speaking, I\nam truly sorry!). The true \u201csoul-<\/p>\n\n\n\n winners\u201d are those evangelists,\nmissionaries, pastors and <\/p>\n\n\n\n witnesses whose chief endeavour\nis to set forth the Lord Jesus <\/p>\n\n\n\n Christ and him crucified before\nsinners as He is revealed in the <\/p>\n\n\n\n Word of God (I Cor. 2:2; Gal.\n3:1), leaving the results to God the <\/p>\n\n\n\n Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Lord Jesus Christ, the\nLord of Glory, is not standing by <\/p>\n\n\n\n someplace waiting for\n\u201csoul-winners\u201d to bring sinners to Himself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Christ of God comes to the\nsinners He saves, where they are, <\/p>\n\n\n\n as they are, through the preached\nWord, opening their hearts and <\/p>\n\n\n\n taking up residence there by the\nHoly Spirit. Sinners cannot come <\/p>\n\n\n\n to the Lord Jesus, nor can they\nbe \u201cwon\u201d to the Lord Jesus by the <\/p>\n\n\n\n wiles of some alleged\n\u201csoul-winner.\u201d The Lord Jesus Christ came <\/p>\n\n\n\n into this world to SAVE sinners,\nand He is doing just that! He <\/p>\n\n\n\n pursues, subdues and renews whom\nHe wills (John 5:21). <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSalvation is of the Lord.\u201d \u201cLord\nJesus, come quickly.\u201d Come to <\/p>\n\n\n\n your saints here today.
