Our Lord had preached things they found to be\n\u201chard sayings.\u201d Without<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>going into great detail on what\nChrist said that offended the followers, I want us to see that the preaching of\nthe truth of the doctrine of Christ is one of the means of separating sheep\nfrom goats, wheat from chaff, true disciples from the false. Often afflictions,\ntemptations, and persecutions will separate the true from the false, but the\npreaching of the Gospel is in itself the means of dividing the true believer\nand those who are disciples only in name. \u201cThen said Jesus unto the twelve;\nwill ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?\nThou hast the words of eternal life.\u201d (John 6:67-68)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My dear brethren, is there\nanything Christ has said that would make<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you leave him? Is there any truth\nhe preached that offends you? Have<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>you someone else that you can go\nto who has words of eternal life? It is a sad fact that if you can leave Christ\nand walk no more with him, some day you will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Donnie Bell<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Regarding the mysterious and\nwonderful Incarnation of our Blessed Lord.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>William Gurnall:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;He who was eternally in\nthe bosom of His Father, chose to be born in a foul stable. Here is the greatest wonder that heaven and earth have ever\nseen!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Bunyan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;He came not as a fierce\nlion to devour, but as a spotless lamb to be sacrificed, that we might be\nreconciled to God. Call us and we will come. Speak to us we will listen. Feed us we will be\nfed. You have started the work. You must finish it. We are completely at your\nmercy. The gospel and the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>law. If a church splits, you can\nbe sure it is one or the other. In<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>short, the gospel will divide\nbelievers from unbelievers. It is the business of all false<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>religion to patch up a\nrighteousness in which the sinner is to stand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>before God.
