The love of the truth

\n“Them that perish because they received not the love of
\n the truth<\/strong>, that they might be saved.” 2 Thess. 2:10
\n
\nThere is a receiving of ‘the truth’, and a receiving of
\n‘the love <\/strong>of the truth’. These two things widely differ.
\n
\nTo receive the truth will not necessarily save; for many
\nwho receive the truth, never receive ‘the love <\/strong>of the truth’.
\n
\nProfessors by thousands receive the truth into their
\njudgment, and adopt the plan of salvation as their creed;
\nbut are neither saved nor sanctified thereby. But to receive
\n‘the love <\/strong>of the truth’ by Jesus being made sweet and
\nprecious to the soul, is to receive salvation itself.
\n
\n
\n“Unto you therefore which believe He is precious.” 1 Peter 2:7<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call Him LORD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I notice that few preachers and\nwriters use the expression \u201cOUR LORD JESUS\u201d or \u201cTHE LORD JESUS\u201d. It is \u201cJesus\nsaid this\u201d and \u201cJesus did that\u201d or \u201cJesus died and rose again\u201d. Brethren, HE IS\nTHE LORD \u2013 HE IS THE LIVING GOD!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need to acknowledge His deity,\nHis dominion, and His divine anointing! He is \u201cGod over all, blessed forever\u201d\nand we can never praise Him too much, speak too reverently of Him, or give Him\na high title which He does not deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may feel that I am straining\nat a gnat but I sincerely do not think so. As for this preacher and this\ncongregation, He is our LORD JESUS CHRIST and I shall continue to discourage\nany over-familiarity or lack of reverence for His person and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYe call me LORD and ye say well,\nfor so I am.\u201d And I urge all who use His glorious name, even in conversation,\nto use it most reverently and with full honours!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OUR LORD CAME ON PURPOSE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Lord came on purpose to save\na particular people and He accomplished what He came to do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are one of those\nparticular people and if He accomplished for you, then He will notify you of it\nthrough the preaching of His word. In His notification, He will convince you of\nthe fact that you are a sinner, the worst sinner you have ever known! That is\nthe very reason why He had to die! It was to save you from your sins, His death\nwas God the Father free to you. And in His free gift you are completely\nredeemed! It was all appointed by the Father and obtained by the Son. To Him be\nglory forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Longing\nto See His Face<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When\nour Lord came bodily to this world, He came in the \u201clikeness of sinful flesh\u201d\nRom. 8:3. No one looked at His outward appearance and thought He was different\nfrom any other mortal man. On the Mount of Transfiguration, the veil of our\nLord\u2019s humanity was taken away so that the disciples had to hide their faces\nfrom the radiance of His glory. The Lord told Moses, no man can see my face and\nlive. For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face. It doth not\nyet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall\nbe like Him; FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 A Servant of God<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 All believers are bond\nslaves of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:1).  There are four ways a man can become\na servant, and all of these are seen in the Gospel.  (1) A man could be\npurchased to be a servant.  We were purchased by the blood of Christ (I\nPeter 1:18).  (2) A man could be captured, conquered, and made a\nslave.  We were captured and conquered by the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians\n4:8).  (3) A man could be born a slave. We were born servants of Christ\nwhen we were born again.  (4) A man could choose to be a bond-slave of the\nMaster that he loved.  We willingly choose to be servants of Christ\n(Exodus 21:1-6).                  \n              <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe Christian is often dissatisfied with his state. He
\nis well aware of the shallowness of his attainments
\nin the divine life, as well as of the ignorance and the
\nblindness that are in him. He cannot perceive the path
\nof life. He sees and feels so powerfully the workings
\nof sin and corruption, that he often staggers, and is
\nperplexed in his mind.

\nAnd therefore, labouring under the feeling of . . .

We daily and hourly feel the\nworkings of….
\n    mighty sins,
\n    raging lusts,
\n    powerful temptations,
\n    besetting evils,
\nagainst the least and feeblest of which we
\nhave no strength. But as the eye of faith
\nviews our blessed Lord at the right hand
\nof the Father, we are led by the power of
\nHis grace to look unto Him, hang upon Him,

\nTo worship a god…
\n…whose purpose can be defeated,
\n…whose will can be thwarted,
\n…whose work can be overturned, and
\n…whose grace can be frustrated is to worship an idol.
\nSuch a god is no GOD at all!

\nJesus Christ our Lord is the unrivaled Sovereign of the
\nuniverse (Matt. 28:18; John 17:2). He who is God our
\nSaviour does as he will in the army of heaven and among
\nthe inhabitants of the earth. He makes one a vessel of
\nhonour and another a vessel of dishonour, one a vessel of
\nmercy and another a vessel of wrath, one to show forth
\nthe riches of his grace and another to show forth the severity
\nof his justice, exactly as it pleased him from all eternity.

\nTo deny that Christ created all things and rules all things
\nis to deny that he is God. To deny that he is God is to
\nmock him, blaspheme him, and attempt to deny him his glory.

\nTo deny that Christ is God, sovereign upon his throne is to
\ndeny hope to needy sinners who look to him alone for grace,
\nsalvation, and eternal life (John 17:2; Rom. 14:9).
\n
\nNone but an absolute sovereign Lord can save.
\nNone but an absolute sovereign can be trusted implicitly.
\nNone but an absolute sovereign will be worshipped.
\nJesus Christ, our God and Saviour, rules all things absolutely
\n(Ps. 76:10; 115:3; 135:6; Pro.16:1, 33; 21:1).

\nJesus Christ is the absolute Monarch of the universe!<\/strong>
\nOur Saviour is the great King! Nothing more fully shows
\nforth the unrivalled excellence of Christ than his total
